Video from The Watford Observer of The Peace Hospice and Hospice of St. Francis Joint Sponsored Firewalk November 2006

As the video captures so well, there is nothing better than the unique experience of watching a large group of your supporters walking over hot coals with the sound of the cheering crowd in your ears and the tremendous feeling of excitement which fills the air. Knowing with each sponsored walker crossing the fire lane, your fundraising target is one step closer to being met. We hope this short video has intrigued and excited you enough to read more about the powerful fundraising potential that is unleashed when T4C facilitates an event with your hospice.

To find the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about firewalking including its history, the science behind it and what happens on the night of a T4C Firewalk Fundraiser, please follow this link.

We also offer walking barefoot over a bed of broken glass on a sponsored template. To discover more about glass-walking and to watch a recent video of 'mind-manipulator' Derren Brown demonstrating glass-walking and a video of our trainer Cliff Mann teaching the art of walking across broken glass to a member of the public on the Discovery Health Channel please click here

In addition to firewalking and glass-walking, we now offer the chance for your supporters to get themselves sponsored to break a one inch thick wooden board in two with only the palm of their hand! (no prior experience required whatsoever). To find out more about board-breaking please click here

When you select Time4Change as one of your sponsored event providers of choice, you join such organisations as Barclays Bank, Chicago Rock Cafe, Boots and Watford Football Club as well as charities like Vitalise, Wish upon a Star Appeal and The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, all of which, have taken advantage of the service and expertise we offer.

If you have read our promotional email, you will already be aware of the growing number of hospices that are turning to
T4C. Some of the clients we have worked with include:

  • St. Michaels Hospice in Hastings (£12,000 plus in a single evening)
  • St. Catherine's in Preston (£9,200 in sponsorship pledges)
  • Rainbow Trust  (£35,000)
  • The Peace Hospice and the Hospice of St. Francis (£10,000 raised jointly)
  • Hospice in the Weald in Kent (£5 500)
  • St Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne (£16 000)

Given the fact we do things a little differently at T4C, we decided early on to base the entire range of services and resources we offer from the viewpoint of the client. We simply asked "what is it that fundraisers really want?". Contrary to what most companies say, we recognise the challenge of "selling" these kind of events to your supporters and the wider public without the necessary support structures.

By responding to the needs of the client, we free up the fundraiser to do what they are best at which is talking to potential participants and promoting the event itself.

SERVICES AND SUPPORT
The cost of all the services, resources and promotional materials we offer are inclusive and no extra costs are incurred by the hospice. We recognise that the majority of hospice fundraisers are constrained by time, energy and resources and very few hospices have their
own full time in-house graphic and web designers or event promoters. We also acknowledge the extra cost to create these services and resources can be prohibitive and thus off-set the potential return on the event itself.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Individually designed and hosted promotional webpage for your event
  • Online materials including promotional video and downloadable resources
  • Full colour promotional html emails
  • Bespoke posters, forms and info packs as hard copies and online resources
  • Promotional Firewalking DVDs for recruitment of walkers and tools for sponsorship
  • Full colour certificates of achievement with hospice logo and design scheme.
  • Soundsystem/PA and rigid barriers on the night

To find out more about the marketing and promotional services and resources we offer please follow this link

RESOURCES ON THE NIGHT
The cost of hiring a sound system/PA to make the event more interesting and entertaining for the public and your supporters on the night can be prohibitive. We bring our own sound system with us at no extra cost and play music to keep the crowd entertained, switching to tribal drum music for the actual walk. Sound provides an added dimension to the event and intensifies the level of excitement generated by walkers and supporters alike. For T4C, the safety and welfare of both the walkers and the general public is paramount. Unlike many firewalking companies who are content to manage the crowd with a roll of tape at the most, we provide a large number of rigid barriers to contain the firewalk area, again at no extra cost.

INSURANCE
We are fully insured and carry both professional indemnity and public liability insurance up to five million pounds.

Note: Unlike most firewalking providers who have either no insurance or insurance which only covers "fire performance"; our cover actually mentions firewalking explicitly.
