On the evening of the 30th November 2006, hundreds of cheering supporters gathered at the Watermill Hotel in Hemel Hempstead to watch TIME4CHANGE safely guide over fifty sponsored walkers across hot coals and in the process raise over ten thousand pounds in sponsorship monies for both The Hospice of St Francis and The Peace Hospice: both based in Hertfordshire. Earlier, on the same day, TIME4CHANGE, made firewalking history by taking over forty premier league footballers and their manager Aidy Boothroyd from Watford Football Club through a two hour motivational and team building workshop in order to prepare them for their away match against Manchester City that took place on 4th Dec. despite the overwhelming 'expert' opinion that Manchester City would triumph, Watford FC held the home side to a 0-0 draw. Watford Football Club made a generous donation to both hospices in return for their motivational training.

From The Sun Website: Aidy turns heat up on Hotford!

AIDY BOOTHROYD walks over burning coals — in a bid to hot-foot it up the Premiership.

His Watford side are battling against relegation after failing to set the top flight alight.

So Boothroyd arranged Thursday's’s flaming crazy stunt to keep his team on their toes and raise cash for Watford Peace Hospice. The Hornets boss, whose side visit Manchester City on Monday, was the first to feel the heat.

Boothroyd said: “One or two of the players’ hearts were probably going but there were no injuries.”

Skipper Gavin Mahon added: “I remember the days when players used to go on golf days to build team spirit — but the gaffer’s a bit different.”

To find out more about what the national papers have been saying about the Watford Football Club Firewalk see Sun's Coverage of Event or here to see the front page of the national daily paper The Sun's sports section dated Saturday 2nd December 2006

The Watford Observer have made a short three minute video featuring footage from the training and of the evening event itself. The quality of the video is excellent and it gives all future clients an insight into why more and more fundraisers and organisers are turning to TIME4CHANGE. After all, the simple fact that the manager of a premier league football club trusts TIME4CHANGE enough to take every single one of his players across hot coals mid-season, speaks volumes not only about our stringent safety and operating procedures but also about the incredible benefits a TIME4CHANGE event can give in terms of motivational training and group empowerment.
